I had lots of problems with my identity but now I am fine.  I did lots of therapy which also helped me as an actor, especially when I am offered dark characters”.

Buenos Aires, march,2007   Canadian actor, Jim Carrey was all this time wearing “a mask” behind his toothy grin.  The slapstick, hyper, and over the top actor-comedian became a household name during the 1990’s by starring in movies such as: “Ace Ventura, Pet Detective”, “The Cable guy” and “The Truman Show’.  He is currently in the land of the pampas promoting his newly released thriller “The number 23”.  He told to Argentine newspaper “El Clarin” about his battle against depression
“There was a time when I was very depressed.  I had lots of problems with my identity but now I am fine.  I did lots of therapy which also helped me as an actor, especially when I am offered dark characters”.

The actor says that he took up painting and other hobbies to diversify his life.  Now Carrey wants to write a book for children, and maybe one about spirituality.   Carrey who is considered one of Hollywood’s best comedians, now says he is at a peace.
