Nueva York,27,feb.2007.-He is Puerto Rican with a Dominican accent and raised in The Bronx, his name is Octavio Rivera but everybody knows him as Toby Love. Always surrounded by talent, his mother used to play the bass, his father is a singer and his grandfather plays the guitar. Toby Love started in the music business when he was around 11 years old and it has been fun for him. He still remembers when he used to be in a group with his cousins called Los Juveniles but his stardom to fame was when he joined the bachatero group Aventura. After six years he left the successful group because he wanted to do his own thing in the bachata genre and took his experience from Aventura as an apprenticeship. Now, the 23 year old bachatero told LAMUSICA.COM, "In Aventura I learned to be responsible, ahora la gente me dice que soy buena persona y el dinero no me ha cambiado", he added. Toby Love just released his second single "Please don't cry" and it's a hit! But it might not be too long for his next hit since he is now working on a new song with the Puerto Rican salsero Victor Manuelle. The rising star has worked with Rakim- & Ken-Y, Voltio and more. "I work with a lot of good people", he said.This Puerto Rican bachatero is always trying to bring a new flavor in bachata. So the former Aventura vocalist wants to bring bachata to a different level, "I don't want to give it a makeover, I just want to add some R&B and crunk"; so he came out with "crunkchata". That's not all; he also started his own company called Scarlito Entertainment. And besides the music industry Toby Love likes to design clothes, "I love designing clothe, I love seeing people in the clothes with my own designs". He doesn't have a clothing line yet, but he is working on it, and who knows in the future we might be able to purchase a Toby Love jacket!
