Julissa

The band Julissa was formed in 2001 by the lead singer/songwriter Julissa Gomez, and by co-writer and cousin, Mario German. The band is made up of six members Albert Maldonado-Guitar, Carlos Fuentes-Bass, James Shepard-Drums, Bissette Mercado-Percussions/Backup Vocals, Mario German-Guitar and Julissa Gomez-Lead Vocals.

Described by many on GarageBand.com as a Spanish No Doubt, and The Police, the bands objective has been primarily to write and perform their own original pop rock/alternative music with a Latin feel and sound that could appeal to any and all musical taste and audiences, in other word, something for everybody. Julissa hopes to break barriers by appealing to all who simply appreciate music which you can dance or bob to. Julissa wish is to take Latin Rock alternative to a whole new level that will bring it back into the limelight again as it was in the time of its predecessors such as; Mana, Soda Stereo, Alejandra Guzman, and many others. Their aim is to Show that there’s new stuff out there that’s happening, that is exciting, full of energy, and uplifting more than it ever was. There’s a new scene that’s occurring right under the nose of the American public and current Reggaeton culture which is believed will explode onto the world someday soon and Julissa would like to be there when it does, American Latin Rock Alternative!!!
